As in previous games, Power Spots in The Witcher 3 are special spots that Geralt can work on to get an upgrade for every five magic points. You get one skill for visiting each power point the first time, and then just a score each time after that. They are not difficult to find, as you can see on the world map, and Geralt’s medallion will vibrate when you are there.
What the map doesn’t tell you is which of the energy points on the map correspond to each of your five witch signs. We’ve got six power points from White Orchard, the first map of The Witcher 3, shown to you by the icon. Don’t rush straight to the first site to see if it has some marks you need to improve before the fight. Keep in mind that there is also an achievement for activating five power points at the same time. This is another license in Geralt’s name, which is easy to pick up while you’re here. Read below to find out how to do it quickly.
WHITE GARDEN PLACES OF POWER
- Aard – In the forest directly north of the Igni stone in the graveyard, surrounded by other large stones.
- Axii – Directly west across the bridge from the Fast Travel Mill, northeast of the Sawmill, in a wooded area.
- Igni – White Orchard Cemetery, north of the Windmill fast travel post.
- Quen – South of the broken bridge fast travel post, on top of a hill overlooking the gorge.
- Quen – East of the Cackler Bridge fast travel post, hidden between two hills.
- Yrden – East of the abandoned village, south of the road into the trees.
How to get the Overwhelming Power achievement
For indoor success hunters, Super Power is what you get for having all five signs working at the same time. It’s not difficult, as each coin works for about 20 minutes, but due to the size of the map, White Orchard is the easiest place to unlock the awesome abilities. I would recommend starting at the northern marker, the Aard Stone north of the air travel area.
From here you can go down the slope to the graveyard to grab Igni, head west across the bridge to Axia, turn almost south of Quen and follow the east path to Yrden closed. You can go to Roach on a scenic tour to visit all these places, or just use a quick tour if it’s just a stopover on your way to greatness.
VELEN AND NOVIGRAD PLACES OF POWER
- Aard – south of Frischlow, in the swamps.
- Aksiy – Southeast of Alness, on a ledge overlooking the village.
- Igni – West of the Ancient Oak sign.
- Igni – Northeast of Voters’ Square. Fast travel to Novigrad, through the temple on the rock outside.
- Quen – near the top of the Bald Mountain, through the caves and the bridge under a large tree.
- Quen is a fast travel point for Lornrook, along the water under the bridge.
- Yrden – Inside a cave northeast of the alleys, the entrance is directly south of the marker, on the coast.
- Yrden – Northwest of Downvarren’s fast travel, on top of a small mountain.
SKELLIGE PLACES OF POWER
- Aard – East coast of Ard Skellig, north of the road from Redgill’s travel point, on the top floor of a ruined fort guarded by the Cyclops.
- Axii – From the crossroads, take the south road down to the coast, into the water.
- Axii – Northwest of Caer Muir, along a small mountain path towards Fornhal.
- Igni – Inside the Ancient Crypt, in a cavernous open area.
- Igni – On Spikerog, northwest of Svorlag, behind Udalryk House. You can get around the abandoned house by jumping and climbing the rock to the left of the entrance.
- Quen – in the basement of Kaer Trolde, only available during the King’s Gambit quest.
- Quen – Atop Yngvar’s Fang, above Urialla Harbor.
- Yrden – East of the Druid Camp travel point.
- Yrden – West of Harviken in a small temple on the path leading to
